January 2021 – Fun Farm Offerings and a New Set of Eyes

January is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only is it my birthday month, but the fieldwork demand is low, so I can spend my free time skiing. As a farmer, I take stock of everything that has happened over the past year for this business and I use that information to create new, unique ideas and goals, and make plans for the year to come. It’s quiet in the fields and busy at my desk. Currently, I have to document inventory, plan field crops and field layouts, schedule planting times, plan future wedding events, and taxes are coming up, etc., etc., etc. While this would be overwhelming to me as a new business owner, I am now more seasoned as a farmer florist, more knowledgable, more capable, and more comfortable in the niche I’ve created here in Haywood County, and will continue to thrive in that way. I feel like I have a fresh set of eyes on everything, and I see great opportunities for growth this year in 2021. There will be new services offered this season, starting with early to mid-spring bouquet subscriptions. Check them out, they are really fun! There are a few other projects in the works, but I want to save those as surprises. 🙂

One of the habits I’m trying to establish this year is to keep my news board updated with information about my services; Particularly farmers markets updates with location information and subscription delivery and shipment updates. I like to think of this space as the news bulletin board with regular updates. Other great places to get update information are on Facebook (Sun Dragon Flower Farm and Floral Design) and Instagram (@sundragonflorals). For now, the field plans and computer work will continue, while I eagerly await a more demanding and busy field season.

Cheers,
